About Hedgehog Organics
We sell organic and local food to support small, local growers and makers, maintain jobs and build resilience into our otherwise fragile global food system. Organic agriculture cares for the soil, which helps wildlife and absorbs and retains carbon, so that humans get to stick around on the planet longer. We think that as energy and chemical inputs become costlier, organic will in time become the norm once again.
Fair prices for farmers and artisan food producers is vital
We pay our suppliers at least 50% of the retail value for any products we buy in, and when dealing with wholesalers, we check to make sure they pay fair prices to their growers.
The benefits of buying local
Local food supports local economies. Food grown in the local community supports local jobs and encourages variety in our diets. It also requires less transportation, so it's fresher and has a smaller environmental footprint.
We love our weekly veg box! The boxes are full of beautiful, fresh vegetables. Not only do we get our staple veg in every box, but there are also a couple different ones to try.
