Steenbergs Kitchari Spice Mix is Axel's take on this clasic Ayurvedic spice blend for making kitchari. To make Kitchari, Steenbergs toasts the key seeds, then grinds and blends these together to make a rich and pungent spice mix, created for vegan cooking and works really well with all pulses and rice dishes. Kitchari is traditionally a mix of rice and lentils cooked with this blend of spices, used for within Ayurvedic cooking as a cleansing dish. The English word "kedgeree" derives from this dish.
